Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art that focuses on grappling or ground fighting. Think Olympic wrestling, but with less pins and more submissions, like triangles, arm bars, and Kimuras! BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger, and heavier assailant by using proper technique and leverage to use the opponent’s weight and momentum against them if the fight ends up on the ground. This concept is incredibly important because many, if not most, attacks end up there! Our goal here is to provide the individual with the necessary tools to protect themselves in the event the need arises, while hoping that it never, ever does.
In addition to regular classes, some of our team competes in tournaments all around the state of Georgia to test their skill and technique against other skilled practitioners. Not the competitive type? That’s fine! Tournaments are completely optional and will never be required by us.
Our head coach is a certified Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor, in addition he is also a Certified Peace Officer with the State of Georgia and is a full-time instructor at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, GA.
Adult co-ed BJJ classes are offered on the following days, please note that our Thursday class is for team members 30 years old and up. Don’t want to come alone? Bring a friend and we’ll pair you both up to be partners!
