Elite Defense Tactics’ Krav Maga program has been influenced by many different programs and instructor experiences. *EDT has been influenced most by CT707 Israeli Special Forces Krav Maga as its Krav Maga system. This is because CT707 was born directly out of counter terrorism and special forces training developed specifically for the Israeli Defense Forces. This system has not only proven to be effective on the battlefield, but has since been adapted to the streets by Sergeant Major Nir Maman. Maman was the head of Counter Terrorism and Special Forces Krav training for the Israeli Defense Forces in Israel. CT707 also had a great influence on Steve Mosley’s Combat Hard Training Center. Combat Hard is where our lead Krav Maga instructor, Ted Manolis, earned his 1st Degree Black Belt. Because of this, Ted was able to see the effectiveness of Maman’s program and we wanted that CT707 influence to carry over into our program.
Our Head Instructor, Kevin Brown, received his training in American Style Karate, The Keysi Fighting Method, and Krav Maga World Wide.
All of these training experiences have gone on to develop what we believe to be the best Krav Maga system we can offer here at Elite Defense Tactics!!

ADULT SELF-DEFENSE
Adults have very different responsibilities from children and often find themselves in very different situations. Adults have the responsibility to get their family and themselves home safely. Adults therefore need a different set of skills. First and foremost, we focus on our students developing a self-defense mindset. This involves improving awareness, instinct, threat recognition, situation analysis, decision making, and discipline. We help our students learn the warning signs of an attack. However, in the event they are involved in a dangerous situation, they can rely on verbal de-escalation techniques we have taught. We then believe and recommend leaving the area if possible. Unfortunately, it is not always possible. We therefore believe that each of our students should have a wide variety of skills and know when and how to use them. They should also know what they can and cannot do legally to defend themselves and their loved ones, and we therefore teach the related Georgia laws pertaining to self-defense.
At Elite Defense Tactics, Krav Maga is the core of our program. Krav Maga was developed for and is still used by the Israeli Defense and Security Forces. It is widely recognized as the world’s leading self-defense method. Its name means “contact combat” which can be roughly translated as close combat. Krav Maga was designed for people of all sizes, shapes, and physical abilities regardless of age. It incorporates easy to learn techniques that allow the student to be proficient in a short period of time. It teaches empty handed defenses and disarms against firearms, knives, clubs, and other weapons. Besides the self-defense factor, Krav maga is excellent for conditioning, stress relief, self-confidence and fun. Above all else, it is designed to get you home safely.
